Kurakhove, without exaggeration, is the new Bakhmut. The city faces daily strikes from guided bombs, barrel artillery, MLRS, and FPV drones. The threat of encirclement for both the Kurakhove garrison and the civilian population is likely the greatest it has been since the start of the war.
Only one store remains in Kurakhove, and supplies are brought in by an armored evacuation van equipped with electronic warfare (EW) protection.
The only route into the city is the "road of death," controlled by enemy FPV drones. Burnt-out cars line the road, marking the attempts of locals who tried to escape. The evacuation crew is protected by EW systems, but this is only an additional tool and may not always be effective.
Every day, the White Angels’ evacuation team rescues 6 to 12 locals from the city.
The most harrowing part is that children are still in the city. Some parents hide their children not only from the bombings but also from the police, preventing efforts to save them.
Some parents can be persuaded to leave with their children for safe territory.
Burning buildings, the sounds of explosions, and smoke are now the usual sights in this city.

The guys stay in Kurakhove, even under such critical conditions, spending nights in the basement of the local police station.
Just a few days ago, the station building was destroyed by a guided bomb. Fortunately, the White Angels were unharmed.
The hospital, technical college, all schools, kindergartens, water treatment station, refugee center, post office, and cultural center have all been destroyed by airstrikes.
Enemy forces are only 3 kilometers from the city center, where 700 to 1,000 civilians still remain. The threat of cutting off the main supply route increases every day.
Pray for this place… and remember that just nine hours away from you, it’s March 2022 again, and Bucha wasn’t two years ago—it’s happening right now in once-peaceful towns across our country.
