Anton Shtuka is a documentary photographer and film director from Kyiv, Ukraine.

He is a member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers, and the Ukrainian Film Academy.


From the very beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Anton has been documenting real and dramatic stories from Ukraine for Western audiences as a documentary photographer and filmmaker.


Since 2022, Anton has worked with The Guardian, Bloomberg, The Times,
PBS, NPR, AP, Reuters, AFP, WSJ, Paris Match and Le Monde
.


His documentary "The Year That Never Ended" was featured by The Guardian
in 2023.


In the spring of 2023, Anton received a grant from the European Union to produce the feature documentary film "Warning! Life Goes On",
about a street artist from Kharkiv.
The film premiered at the Odesa International Film Festival 2024 in the national competition. The film’s national cinema release took place
in May–June 2025.


In the autumn of 2025, the world premiere of Anton’s documentary film
"The Last Prometheus of Donbas" took place in Germany at the Cottbus Film Festival Anton had been working on the project for the past two years.
Film tells the story of the last operating power plant in the unoccupied part of the Donetsk region.
The film’s national cinema release is planned for February 2026.
